Montana Science enthusiasts,
You are cordially invited to attend the Montana Junior Academy of Science meeting which occurs with the Montana Academy of Sciences on April 4, 2020 at the Student Union on the campus of Montana Tech (map at https://map.mtech.edu/) in Butte, Montana from 1030 am for the symposium through a poster session and dinner that starts at 7pm. The single day format is new and our hope is that it permits more people to engage fully throughout the day and into the evening poster session and dinner. Scientists and the college and graduate students they work with gather, share research, and enjoy a day that celebrates science and those who love it!
There are two forms of engagement: students who love science may register on sciencemt.org for the meeting ($40 registration fee including light lunch and dinner) and see the amazing science being done in the state through short presentations and poster sessions, meet scientists, and see what opportunities await them. The second form of engagement is for students who have done original scientific research (no group work considered.) For these students, they may register at sciencemt.org ($40 registration fee including a light lunch and dinner) and submit a copy of their abstract. Two students will be chosen to present their original research in the symposium during the day, receive a letter of support from the Director of the Junior Academy, and have the opportunity to attend the AAAS meeting (American Association for the Advancement of Science) and present their research with support from the Montana Academy of Sciences. Guidelines for the original research that may be considered are available on the website MTJAS.org and students attending the meeting who are under eighteen should have a parent or teacher mentor chaperone. The registration deadline is on March 15, 2020. We look forward to seeing you there!
